2009 will be our last year of opening the garden and nursery to the public.
N.B. We are opening for a shorter season in 2009.
By August we will have been opening to the gardening public for twenty years and Wol will be sixty five. We have decided to retire and close the garden and nursery. Health permitting, we intend to continue gardening at Glen Chantry for our own pleasure without the pressures of running the nursery and opening the garden to the public. It seems fitting to us what started as a passionate hobby should return to that state. We are immensely grateful to the very large number of garden visitors and nursery customers from all over the world whose support, enthusiasm and appreciation has made all the unremitting hard work worthwhile.

In 2009 Glen Chantry garden and nursery is open from the 15th May to the 15th August inclusive on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm .
2009 Admission is £3.50 for adults and £0.50 for children.
Groups and coaches are welcome on open days, but must make a prior arrangement with the owners Wol and Sue Staines.
There is plentiful off road parking adjacent to the 3 acres of gardens, both for cars and coaches.
The gardens participate in the National Gardens Scheme on the first Friday of each open month.
May for spring bulbs and alpines , June - August for perennials and end of June to July for roses are particularly rewarding times to visit.
Toilets are available. There are self-service teas and light refreshments available, but disabled access is limited and picnics and dogs not allowed.
